Welcome to Knot & Compass Travel. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Knot & Compass website (https://www.knotandcompasstravel.com), related platforms, and our travel planning services. By accessing this website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Website Use & Intellectual Property

• Cookies: We use cookies to personalize your experience. By accessing our site, you agree to use required cookies. Optional cookies for marketing/statistics may be declined, but certain third-party integrated services (like video) may require them to function.

• License: Unless otherwise stated, Knot & Compass, LLC owns the intellectual property rights for all material on this website. All rights are reserved. You must not copy, republish, sell, rent, or redistribute material from our website without written consent.

• User Comments: We do not filter or review comments prior to their appearance on the site. Comments reflect the views of the author, not Knot & Compass, LLC. We reserve the right to monitor and remove any comments considered inappropriate or in breach of these Terms.

2. Services Provided

Knot & Compass, LLC offers personalized travel planning services, including but not limited to:

• Cruise and all-inclusive resort bookings.

• Trip planning, itinerary coordination, and group travel arrangements.

• Vendor communication and documentation management.

• Contract execution using secure e-signature platforms (e.g., SignNow and Google Workspace).

3. Client Responsibilities

By engaging our services, you agree to:

• Provide accurate legal names (as they appear on passports), contact info, and documentation.

• Respond to requests and make payments in a timely manner.

• Requirements: Ensure all travelers meet applicable requirements, including passports (valid for 6 months beyond travel), visas, and health/vaccination documentation.

• Vendor Terms: Review and comply with the specific terms of individual travel vendors (airlines, hotels, etc.).

4. Payment Terms & Methods

All service fees, deposits, and vendor payments will be provided in writing prior to booking.

• Accepted Methods: Square, TravelJoy, ACH/Bank Transfer, Venmo, and PayPal.

• Credit Card Surcharge: Payments made via credit card (Visa, MC, Discover, Amex) are subject to a 3% surcharge.

• Checks: A $25 fee applies to each bounced check. After the second bounced check for a trip, an alternative payment method is required. Checks should be made payable to Knot & Compass Travel.

5. Refund & Planning Fee Policy

All professional planning fees—including base packages, expedited services, and enhancements—are 100% non-refundable.

• Earned Fees: These fees cover bespoke research and logistical mapping already rendered. They remain earned regardless of whether the trip is booked, canceled, or rescheduled.

• Itinerary Shifts: If a journey shifts from international to domestic after research has commenced, no cash refund or credit is provided for the price difference.

• Discretionary Credits: At its sole discretion, Knot & Compass Travel may issue a Future Travel Credit in lieu of a refund for extenuating circumstances. These are one-time gestures, non-transferable, have no cash value, and expire one year from issuance. A written request is required for review.

6. Hyperlinking & Content Liability

• Linking to Us: Government agencies, search engines, and news organizations may link to our site without prior approval. Other organizations must request approval via email and wait 2-3 weeks for a response. No use of the Knot & Compass Travel logo is allowed for linking absent a trademark license agreement.

• Content Liability: We are not responsible for content appearing on external websites that link to us. You agree to defend us against claims raised on your website that may be interpreted as libelous or criminal.

7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

• No Warranty: We do not warrant that the information on this website is 100% correct, complete, or up to date. The website and information provided free of charge are provided without liability for any loss or damage of any nature.

• Intermediary Role: Knot & Compass, LLC acts as an agent for Suppliers. We are not liable for injury, loss, or damage caused by the acts or omissions of any Supplier.

• Travel Insurance: Strongly Recommended. By declining travel insurance, you acknowledge that you are personally responsible for any financial loss or out-of-pocket expenses.

8. Governing Law

This Agreement and any dispute arising out of or in connection with it shall be governed by and consumed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland. You hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Maryland for all disputes.
